GCIC Academic Symposium Event

THE NEED
The Gulf Coast Intercollegiate Consortium (GCIC) Academic Symposium strives to explore an annual theme of debate on deep and enriching levels as students are invited to submit 150 to 300-word abstracts for review. The 2025 11th annual event theme is “Subverting Greed: Living Not On But In Communion With Earth.” To advertise the event, a new design was needed to reflect the theme and encourage participation through the creation of posters, flyers, event badges, event program, social media, and ads in other college collateral.
MY APPROACH
Working closely with the directing professor, needs and expectations of the project were aligned. The 2025 theme happened to align with my perspectives on our environment and inspired my thought process in the design. After conceptualizing a visual direction, I utilized Ai to form various forest elements to help bring the poster to life.
THE RESULT
The 2025 11th GCIC Academic Symposium poster has received very positive feedback in its initial advertising launch.
