THE NEED
College of the Mainland strongly believes in the support of multicultural events to celebrate diversity. The highly celebrated Cinco de Mayo event required a number of assets to provide communication and awareness to both students and staff but also the community. These included digital HDTV and kiosk campus screens, and a MailChimp email blast, as well as printed half page flyers and event program.

MY APPROACH
Working with the marketing team and individuals possessing a rich Spanish background, we strategically planned needs and desired outcomes. I conceptualized a design that spoke to the hispanic community integrating roses and select colors drawing in aspects of history and the aesthetic of their culture.

THE RESULT
The Cinco de Mayo event celebrates its 50th year at COM in 2024. With a successful event brand campaign in place for several years now, the internal brand recognition has spurred excitement and anticipation.

MY ROLE
Design strategy, strategic planning, campaign brand identity, typography, graphic design and layout, project management
